Almost 400 competitors from twelve countries will take part in the 37th International Championships in Mathematical and Logical Games, which begin on Friday. The host of the two-day event, which will be held in Poland for the first time, is the Wrocław University of Science and Technology.

‘This is a great distinction and honours our excellent results so far. We are extremely pleased that we will be hosting the best mathematicians on our campus’, says Monika Kaczmarz from the PWr Department of Mathematics, which organises the championships and appoints and looks after our country’s representation at the world finals of the competition. The Polish national team has been participating since 1992.

The event, called the unofficial world championships, has traditionally been held in Paris, but for the past two years the location of the final competition has been mobile. In 2022, they were hosted in Lausanne, Switzerland, and the Polish team won as many as eight medals there – four gold, two silver and two bronze ones.
