Jagiellonian University in Krakow, the University of Warsaw and the Medical University of Wrocław have been ranked highest among Polish universities, at positions between 601 and 800, in the latest Times Higher Education World University Ranking.

The Times Higher Education World University Ranking is a global compilation that includes higher education entities of various profiles, from more than 100 countries and dependent territories. More than 1,904 institutions are ranked in 2023, including 37 Polish institutions.

The ranking takes into account 17 indicators in five areas: Teaching, Research Environment, Research Quality, cooperation with industry and International Outlook. The results of the Academic Reputation Survey, in which respondents (academic experts, including scientists, researchers and the academic community) are asked to give a subjective assessment of the university based on their knowledge and experience in various fields of study, also play an important role in the assessment.
