Dr Marta Kucharska from the Department of Infectious Diseases and Hepatology at the Medical University of Wrocław has been awarded the ‘Diamond of Wrocław’. The Society of Wrocław Lovers honoured her for her medical and literary activities for the city.
Dr Marta Kucharska is an infectious disease specialist and hepatologist. For many years, she has been professionally connected with the J. Gromkowski Provincial Specialist Hospital in Wrocław (currently employed as a senior assistant), and additionally involved in the work of infectious disease and hepatology outpatient clinics in Bolesławiec, Lwówek Śląski and Jelenia Góra.
In her free time, she develops her other passions, which are poetry and literature. She is the author of three collections of short stories: “Detour Cinema” (2012) “Saudade” (2016), “Irga fed by the avalanche” (Wrocław 2019), the volume of poems “Abyssinia” (2014) and the novel “Blackthorn”, published in November 2022. She has also published in numerous literary magazines.
