Professor Andrzej Nowak from the faculty of mathematics, computer science and econometrics at the University of Zielona Góra and Prof. Georges Zaccour (HEC Montreal, Canada) became the laureates of the prestigious Isaacs Award for outstanding contribution to theory and the use of dynamic games.
Rufus Isaacs created in 1950-70 the basics of the theory of differential games. The prize of his name is awarded every two years by the Committee of the International Society for Dynamic Games. The aim of the Society is to promote and popularize the theory and applications of dynamic games and to disseminate scientific information. The Society achieves them by organizing symposia, conferences, workshops and publishing magazines with a high scientific standards.
The subject of research conducted by Prof. Nowak are issues of decision-making processes and stochastic games, the theory of optimal economic growth and the issue of optimal use of the capital.
