US Ambassador to Poland Mark Brzezinski visited the Centre for International Cooperation at the Technical University of Lodz, where he met with university authorities and students of the IFE’s Centre for International Education, for whom he gave an inspiring lecture, focusing primarily on the conflict in Ukraine and the assistance that Poles have given and continue to give to refugees, but also on the unique social mobilisation of the younger generation.
“Something unique is happening in Poland right now. Driving around the country for almost 2 years now, I see a mobilisation, especially of young people who are presenting themselves to the world by doing things bigger than themselves. The world and America can see that something special is happening, and it’s thanks to you. We see a sensitivity to what is happening next door in Ukraine. We see the best of humanity here”, said Mark Brzezinski.
The US Ambassador also spoke about the recent parliamentary elections. “I must mention the civic mobilisation that the world saw in Poland on 15 October this year. The record number of young people who went to vote and waited in queues for hours is a global inspiration. It is an honour for me to stand before you today”, he added.
