Gdansk University of Technology received two million euros for projects with African and Asian universities

The Department of Transport Engineering at the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Gdansk University of Technology has received almost two million euros in funding for two international teaching projects, SQUARES and AFROTRANS, with universities in Asia and sub-Saharan Africa.

The SQUARES project consortium includes universities from Pakistan, Nepal, Bhutan and Bangladesh, as well as Italy and Estonia. It aims to develop an integrated curriculum and teaching materials in the areas of energy-efficient construction and sustainable transport management, among others, as well as to conduct a management system audit at selected foreign universities. 

The AFROTRANS project is being carried out in a consortium including universities from the Democratic Republic of Congo and Cameroon, as well as Austria and Germany. Its aim is to develop an accredited curriculum and teaching materials for a master’s degree programme in transport systems management.
