The Polish Academy of Arts and Sciences (PAU), together with the Faculty of Management and Social Communication at Jagiellonian University in Krakow, is organising a conference ‘On the Past and the Future. 10 years of the PAU Commission on Culture and Media Management’. 

During the event, which will take place on 11 January 2024 at the PAU, Krakow, the organisers will address the past and future of the culture and media sector.

Conference participants will attempt to answer the questions: Can culture become the ‘missing link’ to deal with the crises of the 21st century? Will the paradoxes faced by today’s leaders and managers of culture and media prove resolvable? How will contemporary media change? And finally, how do we preserve the diversity, intrinsic complexity and local context of cultural practices, organisations and institutions or cultural policies in an age of hyper-exponential formal and global organisations?
