Wrocław University of Technology and The Bank of New York Mellon (BNY Mellon) are organizing a competition for the best master’s thesis in applied mathematics. The main prize is 15 thousand PLN.

Students of Polish universities who wrote or will write a master’s thesis in applied mathematics in the years 2017-2018 can participate in the competition. The jury will be the representatives of the university, associated with the Hugo Steinhaus Center, and representatives of BNY Mellon. They will evaluate the submitted works in terms of the originality of the idea, mathematical correctness and the possibility of applying the solution proposed by the students in practice.

The competition is the first result of a cooperation agreement signed in 2017 by both institutions. The papers, written in English, or translated into English, can be submitted by September 30 through a dedicated website: https://www.bnymellon.com/pl/en/competition/index.jsp?cid=CM_Vanity_science
