The Rector of Lublin University of Technology (PL), Professor Zbigniew Pater, and the Vice President of the Management Board of PKP Intercity, Tomasz Gontarz, signed an agreement on scientific, technical and educational cooperation between Lublin University of Technology and PKP Intercity.

The agreement is to result in student internships and placements, study visits, courses and training, new majors and specialisations, as well as joint research and development projects and promotion of the railway industry.

The parties have declared an ongoing exchange of information on possible areas of cooperation in the field of ongoing research and development (R&D) work and the possibility of implementing the results of this work in economic practice. 

For PKP Intercity, cooperation with the education sector allows it to bridge staff gaps and provide graduates with career paths in the rail industry, while the Lublin University of Technology provides the opportunity to adapt its educational offer to the requirements of the labour market for rail carriers.
