The Board of the Silesian Voivodship has decided to grant funding of PLN 189.9 million for the construction of a new building at the University of Silesia in Katowice to house the Silesian Interdisciplinary Centre for Chemistry.
With an area of more than 30,000 m2, the building will house teaching facilities, laboratories, computer and research laboratories. These will include laboratories for photonics and optoelectronics, molecular spectroscopy and electrochemical analyses, ultrafast laser spectroscopy, structural analysis, synthesis of crystalline materials, spectroscopic analyses of pharmaceuticals and food, and quantum and computational chemistry.
The project will be co-financed by the regional programme “European Funds for Silesia 2021-2027” under Measure 10.13 Higher Education Infrastructure for Transformation from the Fair Transformation Fund.
