The faculties of Environmental Protection at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Sociology at the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Silesia have received Certificates of Excellence in Education awarded by the Polish Accreditation Committee (PKA) in the category Excellent faculty – excellence in faculty education. 

The faculties which run the awarded courses implement effective, innovative and exemplary solutions favouring the quality of education, characterised in particular by: efficiency, i.e. the ability to achieve goals in the area of improving the quality of education; universality, i.e. transferability to other universities; and innovativeness, i.e. an innovative character in the area of improving the quality of education,

PKA also appreciated: exemplarity, i.e. the ability to be a point of reference; ethicality, i.e. compliance with ethical norms and values and the principles of social responsibility; and sustainability, i.e. reproducibility and permanence of impact on improving the quality of education.
