The University of Warsaw (UW) has entered into an agreement with the South Korean universities KEPCO International Nuclear Graduate School (KINGS) and Busan National University (PNU) and the Korea Nuclear Association for International Cooperation (KNA) to create a European nuclear training centre which will be established at the Faculty of Physics of the University of Warsaw.

“In order to build a nuclear power sector in Poland, people with a solid education are needed. We have many talented students and PhD students who can become experts in this field. Thanks to cooperation with Korean partners, this is possible. I am grateful to scientists from the Faculties of Physics, Chemistry and Oriental Studies and Korean universities for their openness, commitment, and work to build mutual relations”, said Professor Alojzy Z. Nowak, Rector of the UW.

Creation of a new faculty and remodelling of existing educational pathways related to nuclear energy received more than eight million PLN in funding from the European Funds for Social Development 2021- 2027 (FERS) programme.
