Students of the Information Technology Club at the University of Technology and Humanities in Bielsko-Biała in cooperation with the Gemini Park shopping center and the People-Innovations-Design Foundation created the Solar Portal – an installation that aims to draw attention to respect for the natural environment through the use of solar energy.

The portal was established at the entrance to the shopping center. It is equipped with photovoltaic cells collecting solar energy. This enables the work of such devices like chargers and interactive multimedia installations. The lighting is made up of several dozen LED points, which in combination with the motion sensor brighten the person passing through the portal.

The project also includes the implementation of a website with information about the portal, whose photovoltaic and electronic installations were designed by the students of the Academy.
