The Polityka weekly journal for the 18th time selected the winners of the “Polityka” Science Awards. Five young scientists received scholarships of 15 thousand PLN.

The laureates of this year’s competition are: Dr. Jan Olaszek from the Institute of National Remembrance, who studies the Polish opposition until 1989 in the comparison to the dissident movements in other communist countries in the humanities category; Dr Mateusz Strzelecki from the University of Wrocław, head of the polar station in Spitsbergen in the social sciences category; Dr. Szymon Drobniak from the Jagiellonian University, author of 36 publications in the field of evolutionary biology in the category of life sciences; Dr Eng Daniel Prochowicz from the Polish Academy of Sciences, who is scientifically involved in photovoltaics in the exact sciences category; Dr Eng Judyta Cichocka of the Wrocław University of Technology, involved in parametric design and Optimization of Architectural Design techniques in the technical sciences category.
