Professor Jacek Jassem, head of the Chair and Clinic of Oncology and Radiotherapy at the Medical University of Gdańsk, became the president of the board of the Polish League of Fight Against Cancer Foundation. The former president Dr Łukasz Andrzejewski resigned.

The Foundation’s mission is to care for the health and lives of hundreds of thousands of Polish women and Poles struggling with cancer, and the aim of the activity is to constantly increase the chances of their cure and reduce the cancer threat. The Foundation was created thanks to the involvement of over thirty experts representing various professions and environments who believe that the struggle against cancer should be a priority of health policy in Poland.

Professor Jassem is a member of many Polish and foreign scientific societies, author of several hundred original scientific papers and academic books.
