In competitive conditions, it is necessary to professionalize the management of universities and research centers – says Prof. Andrzej K. Koźmiński, President of the Kozminski University in Warsaw.
Professionalization of university management and research centers requires on the one hand determination of criteria for the assessment and measures of success (also financial ones) of universities, and on the other – the formation of a group of professional managers of higher education and science – highlights Prof. Kozminski.
In his opinion, this professional group will be aspired by people who, at a certain stage of their academic work (e.g. after PhD or post PhD degree), will decide for a managerial career, which should be sufficiently attractive and stable.
