VII Days of Old Books to be held at the Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University in Warsaw

On 8 – 12 April 2019, the Faculty of Humanities and the Main Library of the Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University in Warsaw (UKSW) invite participants to the 7th Days of Old Books at UKSW. The theme of this year’s event is “Former school and academic book”.

The exhibition will be presented in the lobby at the Auditorium of St. John Paul the Second on the campus at ul. Dewajtis 5.

The opening of the exhibition will be accompanied by lectures by Dr Joanna Dimke-Kamola from the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań entitled “A difficult thing to show in the book. Actio as a subject of teaching in Italian textbooks for adepts of preaching (the second half of the 16th century – the first half of the 17th century)”. Prof. Andrzej Dąbrówka from the Institute of Literary Research of the Polish Academy of Sciences will present “The oldest Polish school textbook” and Dr Marta Wojtkowska-Maksymik from the University of Warsaw will talk on “Elementaria (1575) of Maciej Wirzbięta. From the primer to the textbook of good manners”.
