Students of the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Silesia participated in the prestigious commercial arbitration competition “The Willem C Vis (East) International Commercial Arbitration Moot” in Hong Kong. Agata Zwolankiewicz and Olga Marcinkowska joined the 32 best teams.

137 teams from around the world participated in this year’s competition. Topics concerned international commercial arbitration and commercial law, with particular reference to the Vienna Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods of 1980. The team “Vis Moot Team Silesia was the only Polish representation and the first in the sixteen-year history of the competition.

The team from the University of Silesia advanced to the final rounds defeating 105 teams from around the world and joined the prestigious group of 32 best representations of the universities. In the individual category, Agata Zwolankiewicz received the distinction “Honorable Mention for Best Oral Advocate”.
