15.03.2018

In May 2018, the Cruise of Independence around the world will begin. The “Dar Młodzieży” foundation invites the youth from Poland and from the countries visited by the Polish sailing ship to participate in the cruise around the world.

The organizers of the cruise are the Maritime University of Gdynia and the Ministry of Maritime Economy and Inland Navigation. The purpose of the cruise, which will take place under the patronage of the Prime Minister, is to disseminate knowledge about Poland and its role in the world.

Symbolically, the event will be inaugurated on May 3, 2018 ( Polish Constitution Day) in Krakow – the former Polish capital city and at the host city of the last World Youth Days (meeting of Catholic youth from all continents with Pope Francis). The “Dar Młodzieży” will sail from Gdynia in the Independence Cruise on May 18, 2018, and in January 2019 will arrive in Panama. The crew of the sailing ship will take part in the 34th World Youth Day there.
