Two young scientists from the Wrocław University of Technology received scholarships from the National Science Center in the seventh Etiuda competition. Over 260,000 PLN will be allocated to complete their projects.

Dawid Grabarek from the Chemistry Department thanks to a scholarship of over 152,000. PLN will realize the project “Modeling and characterization of two-photon absorption processes in selected fluorescent proteins by the methods of theoretical chemistry”.
Maria Pawliszewska from the electronics department earned over PLN 114 thousand for the implementation of the project “Ultrashort pulse generation in 2 um spectral range using nanomaterial-based saturable absorbers”.

Etiuda is a competition for scientists making their first steps in the research. Within its framework, persons preparing a doctoral dissertation are granted scholarships of 4.5 thousand PLN monthly. In addition, the laureates can take internships at a foreign research center of their choice. They will receive from about 6 to approximately 18 thousand PLN monthly to cover costs.
