Students and PhD students of the Faculty of Geographical and Geological Sciences of the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań participated in the international GEOpraktyka project. The fifth project was called “Around the deserts of Oman”.

Participants conducted research on the rate and magnitude of potential and actual evaporation in a tropical climate, took samples from the surface levels of soils for the needs of the created database and theses, valorized tourist routes as well as potential and existing geo-sites constituting the development of geotourism.

In addition, they carried out the landscape research on one of the most characteristic elements of the landscape in this area – the valleys of periodic rivers (wadi). Students worked on developing research results, and from September they want to start promoting activities by organizing a series of lectures at universities, schools and cultural centers.
