Professor Grzegorz Karwasz from the Department of Didactics of Physics at the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń received the Medal of Krzysztof Ernst awarded him by the Polish Physical Society. It was granted for his long-term popular science activities, significant contribution to EU and national international projects, and all his scientific activities.

Professor Karwasz is the author of books and articles, radio programs and popular didactic films. He has been involved in the creation of interactive exhibitions and web content. He is also a well-known and respected lecturer.

One of the most important goals of the Polish Physical Society is to popularize science, including Polish physics at all levels – among schoolchildren, students and adults. The Medal of Krzysztof Ernst has been awarded since 1993 for merits related to the promotion of physics and achievements in the field of scientific research.
