On Tuesday, September 3, 2019, the Faculty of Biotechnology and Horticulture of the University of Agriculture in Krakow (URK) was holding a conference entitled “10 years of Postgraduate Studies in Floristry”, combined with an exhibition of flower arrangements created by graduates of the Postgraduate Studies in Floristry. The purpose of the event was to exchange views and experiences in the field of ornamental horticulture and floristry.
Conference participants learned about the differences between floristry and bouquet making, and also had the opportunity to participate in specially prepared workshops on subjects related to the plant reproduction in vitro, to taste wines from the university vineyard, observe plants in the university garden, learn about gardening tools, biblical plants, garden roses and about dyeing plants for dry compositions.
For 10 years, 169 graduates mainly from south-eastern Poland, but also from the Czech Republic, England, Switzerland and Italy completed the postgraduate studies in Floristry.
