The evaluation process of applications submitted in the first competition “Initiative of Excellence – Research University” has begun. One of the participants of the competition is the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan. In the first stage, university representatives talked to a team of international experts.

The race of the best Polish universities for the status of a “research university” is one of the most important consequences of Act 2.0. Winners, no more than 10 universities, in addition to the honorable title will receive additional financial support – in 2020-2026, the annual increase in subsidies by 10%. In the case of a Poznań university, this additional amount may amount to over PLN 50 million annually.

At the turn of October and November the rectors will know which universities will obtain the status of research universities. The winners will be selected on the basis of the submitted applications containing the development strategy as a research university.
