The Institute of Polish Studies and Cultural Studies and the Institute of Slavic Studies of the Opole University are inviting participants to an international scientific conference “Religion and style” on September 19 and 20. As part of the conference, the organizers are planning a meeting of the Religious Language Commission at the International Congress of Slavists.
The program includes speeches by 30 lecturers – linguists, literary scholars, culture scholars and theologians from five foreign centers (China, Czech Republic, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia) and several Polish centers (Kraków, Lublin, Opole, Toruń, Warsaw).
An important part of the conference will be the meeting of the Religious Language Commission at the International Congress of Slavists. The Committee is a 37-member body of specialists that will define the framework and specific goals of joint research on the varieties of individual national languages that support the sphere of religion-related culture.
