19.09.2019

On Sunday, September 22, 2019, an Open Day will be held in Warsaw at the Nicolaus Copernicus Astronomical Center (CAMK) of the Polish Academy of Sciences (PAN). The lectures will be accompanied by outdoor events and workshops for children.

The lectures will start with a speech by Marek Abramowicz, devoted to the first ever black hole photos. Then Krzysztof Nalewajko will give a lecture entitled “The Spectrum of the Universe” and Michał Bejger will present the astrophysics of gravitational waves. Wojciech Pych will present a lecture entitled “Polish Observatory in Chile”.

CAMK PAN employees will invite children to search for astronomical knowledge through art games.

– We will build lunar craters of salt mass, explore the lunar surface by arranging magnetic puzzles and building the lunar phase clock. If you join us, you will also learn the signs of the zodiac, and also make a plasticine model of the Solar System. For the young researchers, we suggest a trip to the moon, unique astronomical puzzles, riddles and rebuses.
