Two Polish-German projects implemented by scientists of the University of Silesia qualified for funding in the Beethoven Life competition organized by the National Science Center in cooperation with the German Research Community.
10 research projects implemented by Polish-German teams qualified for the final. The winners are two scientists from the Faculty of Biology and Environmental Protection of the University of Silesia.
Dr Marek Marzec will implement the project “Understanding the function of strigolactones in plant response to drought stress using a collection of barley mutants”, and Dr Miriam Szurman-Zubrzycka for the project “Complex DREAM and NAC – a molecular mechanism of plant response to stress caused by genotoxic factors”.
Beethoven Life is a supplement to the Beethoven Classic competition, which does not cover the thematic scope of applications in the field of life sciences.
