A graduate of the State Higher Vocational School in Elbląg, won the 3rd-degree award in the 5th Professor Ewelina Nurczyńska-Fidelska competition for the best MA thesis in Polish cinema or audiovisual education.

The competition jury appreciated the work of Weronika Wójcik, “Remotely unfit? Media competences in Polish education caused by the COVID-19 pandemic”.

The author described e-learning platforms and confronted these descriptions with the impressions of users, i.e. teachers. The comparison of the functional characteristics of distance learning tools with the users’ statements gives an extremely valuable pragmatic image of media education. The anthropological approach presented by the author reveals with full force the necessity to treat digital media in the context of social, psychological and economic dependencies. The commission recommends fragments of the work for publication.
