On March 19, 2018 the Banking Institute of the Warsaw School of Economics invites participants to the conference “Blockchain – a breakthrough innovation or media gadget?”
Bitcoin, along with other virtual currencies, has entered common consciousness as an alternative to traditional forms of money and investment. However, due to the controversy related to speculation on Bitcoin and the emerging information about its use for criminal purposes, there is a real risk of missing the amazing potential of Blockchain, which is the technological foundation of the cryptocurrency market.
The conference is to start a scientific discussion on the perception of Blockchain technology and its potential for use in the financial system. Representatives of the authorities of the National Bank of Poland, the Polish Financial Supervision Authority, commercial banks and companies dealing with innovative technologies will take part in it.
