The ‘Scientific bookcrossing’ project has been launched at the University of Economics in Katowice. Additional bookcrossing shelves have appeared in the Specialised Library of the Centre for Modern Information Technology, allowing books to be shared free of charge.
The aim of the initiative is to engage the academic community in activities to promote science and reading, in particular the dissemination of knowledge within their academic disciplines. The activities undertaken are an excellent complement to the bookcrossing of fiction that operates on the campus of the Katowice university.
“In this way, we want to enable students and lecturers to share books free of charge and exchange already-read publications, scripts, conference materials and academic textbooks for others. By donating a book you have read, you will probably be able to find equally interesting and valuable texts among the liberated publications.
