Two publications of the University of Silesia Publishing House were awarded in competitions of the Poznań book fair. The publications were evaluated in terms of content, education and editorial values.

The jury composed of representatives of the scientific community and the Polish Chamber of Books, the Association of Higher School Publishers and the media appreciated a book written by Dr Joanna Ewa Szafraniec from the Faculty of Earth Sciences “My map. Creating maps in geoinformation technologies. A supplementary guide to laboratories from the foundations of cartography”. It was awarded within the Competition of the Best Academic Book for the Award of the Minister of Science and Higher Education and for the Award of the Rector of the University of Adam Mickiewicz.

The book “History of the discoveries of chemical elements” by Dr Jan Grzegorz Małecki, was awarded in the Competition for the Best Popular Scientific Book with the Mayor of Poznań City Award.
