From October 1, 2022, the State Higher Vocational School (PWSZ) in Nowy Sącz will become the Academy of Applied Sciences. “We waited a long time for this moment to finally obtain the status of the Academy of Applied Sciences. After meeting all the criteria resulting from the amendment to the act, we achieved what was most important to us”, said Prof. Mariusz Cygnar, rector of PWSZ.

A medical faculty will probably appear in the structure of the Academy in Nowy Sącz.

The Rector of PWSZ does not hide that the academy has been systematically building both its academic staff and scientific and research facilities for many years in order to launch this faculty.

“I think that our infrastructure and staff, meaning first of all the Institute of Health, the Monoprofiled Medical Simulation Center, but also the Institute of Physical Culture, where we conduct a medical course, i.e. physiotherapy, gives us all the grounds to consider that proposal quite seriously,” said prof. Cignar.
