The Academy of Young Scholars of the Polish Academy of Sciences (PAN) has elected new authorities. Dr Jacek Kolanowski from the Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry of the Polish Academy of Sciences became the chairman and Dr Eng. Marta Gmurek from the Lodz University of Technology and Dr Jan Poleszczuk from the Institute of Biocybernetics and Biomedical Engineering of the Polish Academy of Sciences became deputy chairmen.
The new authorities will head the Academy from December 15, 2021 to June 30, 2024.
The Academy of Young Scholars was established in 2010. It is part of the corporate structures of the Polish Academy of Sciences. It brings together young talented researchers who deal with matters important for science and higher education, activates the community of young scientists and popularizes knowledge. The members of the Academy can be elected by the General Assembly of the Polish Academy of Sciences from among candidates who are under 38 years of age and have at least a doctoral degree.
