The Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań was rated 222 in the World University Ranking “GreenMetric”. This is the best result of Polish universities. The ranking lists a total of 912 world universities.

The ranking lists activities related to sustainable development – the level of greening of the university, electricity consumption, as well as transport, water consumption and waste management. Research and educational activities related to climate change are also taken into account. The makers of the ranking are assessing the university dealing with sustainability issues through policies, actions and communication.

Universities of the Netherlands and England were the leaders. In Poland the Poznan university was followed by: Gdańsk University of Technology (231 place), Krakow University of Technology (724), Academy of Special Education in Warsaw (840) and Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University in Warsaw (850).
