18 students and budding scientists will join the group of recipients of a scholarship programme aimed at the Ukrainian scientific community. The programme is an initiative of the National Science Centre (NCN), funded by Norwegian and EEA funds.

The special scholarship programme aimed at students and pre-doctoral researchers was announced by NCN in July 2022. The first list of awardees was published three months later. The 22 grantees selected in October are just now being joined by 18 new grantees who will study and work at Polish universities and institutes of the Polish Academy of Sciences.

The competition’s budget originally amounted to PLN 1.2 million. The awarding of the additional scholarships was made possible thanks to the additional amount of EUR 215,000 allocated by donors to fund them.

The scholarships last from 6 to 12 months. The maximum amount of funding that could be applied for in this competition is PLN 5 000 per month for one student or researcher.
