On the initiative of the Institute of Highway of Technology and Innovation, the AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow became a member of the Association for Sustainable Process Industry through Resource and Energy Efficiency (A.SPIRE).

A.SPIRE is a contractual public-private partnership aimed at developing and implementing innovations in the field of energy and resource efficiency in the process industry.

The initiative icludes the following sectors: chemicals, non-ferrous metals, steel, cement, ceramics as well as mineral raw materials and water in industry.

A.SPIRE projects received support from the European Commission in the amount of EUR 900 million under the HORIZON 2020 framework program.
