Scientists and students of the AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow tried to answer how to evaluate an asteroid, whether the life of comets is stormy and how to acquire water in space, during the Conference on Cosmic Mining held in Kraków.
The 1st Student Space Mining Conference was organized by four research groups: AGH Space Systems, the Mining Mechanics Scientific Team, the Skalnik Scientific Team and the Geophysics Group of GEOFON. The patrons of the conference were the Polish Space Agency and the Space Research Center of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
During the conference, technologies related to cosmic mining were discussed. The geology of celestial bodies, 3D printing in a state of weightlessness, space propulsion, sampling of rocks from celestial bodies, use of geophysical methods in space exploration and space robotics were discussed.
