The AGH University of Science and Technology (AGH) in Krakow has signed an agreement with the European Games 2023 company, under which it will organise an athletes’ village on the university’s grounds for athletes taking part in next year’s games.
The 3rd European Games Krakow – Malopolska 2023 will start already on 21 June and will last until 2 July. For 12 days, the best athletes from the Old Continent will compete for medals at the Games themselves, but also for Olympic qualifications in 19 disciplines. Some of the competitions will have the rank of European championships.
Around 7,000 athletes are scheduled to participate in the European Games. A large proportion of them will compete in Krakow and its surroundings. It is for them that a competition village is being prepared on the premises of the AGH Student Village.
The AGH Student Village in Krakow is in fact the only facility available that meets the requirements necessary for the efficient organisation of such a large event as the European Games, including the location of the competition village”, emphasised the AGH Rector, Professor Jerzy Lis.
