Students from the Signal Processing Team of the Institute of Electronics at the Faculty of Computer Science, Electronics and Telecommunications of the AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow took second place in the international competition IEEE Signal Processing Cup 2021.

This year’s competition dealt with the wireless transmission in 6G networks, namely the automatic configuration of intelligent surfaces reflecting electromagnetic waves for increasing the capacity of the wireless link.

The IEEE Signal Processing Cup competition is addressed at teams of students whose task is to solve real problems using signal processing techniques. The competition is organized by the IEEE Signal Processing Society. Every year, the three student teams that obtained the best results in the competition, may present their solutions to a panel of experts in the grand world final. This year’s final of the competition took place online on June 6 during the IEEE ICASSP 2021 in Toronto, Canada.
