With the support of the Minister of Climate and Environment, the university is planning to create the space for the implementation of tasks in the field of research, promotion, development and use of renewable energy sources, with particular emphasis on heat pumps. On April 12, the AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow signed a letter of intent on cooperation to create a Science, Technology and Business Hub in Miękinia.
The purpose of the Hub is to integrate entities that can contribute to increasing the potential of local producers to create competitive and modern solutions in the field of the use of renewable energy sources, mainly based on heat pumps. The creation of the Hub will be possible thanks to the cooperation of central and local authorities, entrepreneurs and the academic community.
The signatories of the letter include: Minister of Climate and Environment, Government Plenipotentiary for Renewable Energy Sources, Chief National Geologist and Government Plenipotentiary for State Raw Material Policy, Board of the Małopolska Region, Polish Geological Institute – National Research Institute, Institute of Environmental Protection – National Research Institute, AGH in Krakow, the Mineral and Energy Management Institute of the Polish Academy of Sciences, the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management, the Provincial Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management in Krakow and the Mayor of the Krzeszowice Commune.
