Wrocław University of Science and Technology, the Marshal’s Office of the Lower Silesian Voivodship and seven hospitals in Wrocław have signed a cooperation agreement to establish and operate a medical faculty at the Wrocław university.

“This is another step towards building a new great polytechnic modelled on the best European universities. It will be based on such pillars as basic research, technical-engineering sciences and medicine, i.e. science dealing with the most complex system, which is the human organism”, says Professor Arkadiusz Wójs, rector of Wrocław University of Science and Technology.

The opening of the new faculty is also an answer to the shortage of medical staff faced by hospitals. In addition, university candidates will have a greater opportunity to choose their dream faculty, and academic staff will have the opportunity to conduct interdisciplinary research.
