During the International Exhibition of Innovation, Research and New Technologies INNOVA 2018 held in Valencia, the Institute of Aviation- Department of Remote Sensing (Space Technology Center) was awarded the Gold Medal of Invention, for the development of the tools for processing satellite images, data aggregation and creating easy-to-interpret maps of the physical phenomena.
At the same fair, the gold medal was also won by scientists from the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń for the location system supporting the fire service.
The INNOVA fair is the oldest event in the field of inventiveness and scientific research in the world. For 65 years the fairs were held in Belgium, and last year they were transferred to Spain. The previous event took place in Barcelona while the current one took place in Valencia. Over 160 exhibitors from around the world participated in it. Parallel to the INNOVA Fair, the FORINVEST International Forum was also held. This was an exhibition of products and services in the fields of finance, investment, insurance and new technologies from various fields.
