This autumn, the first medical students will start their studies in Bielsko-Biała as a branch of the Silesian Medical University (SUM) will operate in the city. In the 2023/2024 academic year, SUM is planning to admit 75 students to the medical faculty, including 51 full-time students.
The Ministry of Education and Science has agreed to establish a single master’s degree programme with an all-academic profile in medicine outside the SUM’s premises – at a branch in Bielsko-Biała.

As the Vice-Chancellor for Development and Technology Transfer of the Medical University of Silesia in Katowice, and also as a Bielsko-Biała resident, I am proud that it is here that we will educate the next generation of students’, says the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Edward Wylęgała.
