Almost a million times players from around the world played in Excavate – an archeological computer game that was created as part of a popularizing project carried out at the Faculty of History of the University of Gdańsk.

In the game “Excavate”, the player becomes the archaeologist who conducts the excavation research at the historical Evangelical cemetery in Novy Monastirsk. The game is based on real scientific research that was carried out in 2014-2015 by MA Wacław Kulczykowski from the Historical Department of the University of Gdańsk. The game was made by Mateusz Sokalszczuk as part of the Archeologia Live & Online project funded by the Foundation for Polish Science.
