Dr Hanna Kelm, assistant professor at the Department of Public Management and Social Sciences at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Economics in Katowice received the Prime Minister’s Prize for her PhD dissertation “The effectiveness of family policy in the conditions of demographic regress in Poland”.
Dr Kelm developed and used the proposed model for the diagnosis of Polish family policy, which is based on the needs of families, divided into four types of needs: economic; reconciliation of work and childcare; health care for pregnant women and children; support for dysfunctional families and family safety. Dr. Kelm’s dissertation was also awarded by the Institute of Labor and Social Studies.
This year, the Chairman of the Council of Ministers awarded 54 prizes of 462 submitted works. 6 scientists were honored for their outstanding scientific and artistic achievements, 19 scholars received distinctions for scientific and technical achievements. 29 PhD and postPhD dissertations were also awarded.
