During the general meeting of the Polish Maritime Cluster, a decision was made to expand the activity and establish the Baltic Sea and Space Cluster (BaltSeaSpace Cluster). Prof. Edmund Wittbrodt from the mechanical faculty of the Gdańsk University of Technology, chairman of the Space Sciences Commission of the Polish Academy of Sciences becomes the chairman of the Baltic Sea and Space Cluster commission.
The cluster consists of several dozen entities – simple companies with supporting and partner members. It also includes Department of ocean engineering and shipbuilding at the Gdańsk University of Technology. The cluster serves to exchange information, undertake joint activities and implement projects. It will carry out its tasks by integrating science, business and administration in the field of maritime economy and space technologies.
