BBC Arabic, an Arabic-language BBC television channel, broadcast a documentary about research of a technique for detecting early-stage renal failure in diabetic patients conducted at the Jagiellonian University in Krakow.

This technique involves the identification of new biological biomarkers of kidney function. The research is carried out by the Department of Physical Physics, Faculty of Physics, Astronomy and Applied Computer Science, and High Resolution Laboratory of Mass Spectrometry of the Faculty of Chemistry. The project is managed by Dr Ewa Stępień.

The material was broadcast as part of the 4Tech program – a series of reportages by BBC Arabic about the latest scientific discoveries and technical inventions.
