The 7th competition for the best diploma bachelor’s, master’s or engineering thesis on the innovative use of plastics, organised by the Polish Plastics Converters Association, has been resolved.
This year, the main prize was awarded to Adrian Lipkowski from the Warsaw University of Technology for his thesis “Fabrication of impact energy absorbers using a thermoplastic bonded carbon composite and investigation of the influence of reinforcement architecture on their relative energy absorption capacity”.
The papers ‘Hybrid composite panel for the manufacture of a tilt garage door’, by Ms Monika Kurczab of the Krakow University of Technology, and ‘Chemical structure, thermal, mechanical and processing properties of aliphatic bio-poly(ether-urethanes) obtained with bio-based diisocyanate’, by Joanna Smorawska of the Gdansk University of Technology, ex aequo won second place.
