The 19th Conference on Optical Fibers and Their Applications OFTA 2020 will be held on January 27-31, 2020. OFTA is organized every year in other scientific centers in Poland dealing with optical fibers and photonic technologies. Białystok University of Technology will be once again the host of the conference.

The organizers of the OFTA conference in 2020 include: the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the Bialystok University of Technology and the Polish Society of Theoretical and Applied Electrical Engineering. The conference will be supported by the Polish Academy of Sciences as the Polish Scientific Association (Photonics Society of Poland) holds permanent scientific patronage over subsequent OFTA conferences.

The nineteenth OFTA conference will be debated in Białowieża.

The first OFTA conference was organized in 1976. Its subject matter is focused on applications and technologies for the production of various types of optical fibers. The event is attended by scientists, representatives of industrial companies, equipment suppliers and telecommunications operators who are increasingly implementing fiber technologies. During the conference, scientists from Polish centers dealing with optical fibers and photonic technologies will present the results of their research.
