The building of the Faculty of Radio and Television of the University of Silesia was awarded with the Grand Prix of the Polish version of international architectural competition Brick Award 2019. The facility also received the prize in the category public spaces.

By granting the Grand Prix, the jury appreciated the advantages of the new headquarters of the Katowice Film School as a contemporary building, at the same time timeless, subtly inscribing into the local context and combining the experience of cultures of northern and southern Europe. The authors of the winning design are Baas Arquitectura, Grupa 5 Architekci and the Małeccy Biuro Projektowe.

Brick Award is an award that distinguishes buildings with original ceramic architecture. The international competition for over 14 years (for 4 years in Poland) has been organized by the Wienerberger company, which produces such materials. The winning realization will represent Polish architecture in the world Wienerberger Brick Award 2020.
